Founded in 1872, Trinity is located 80 miles northeast of Houston, Texas. The unofficial name for the area around the city of Trinity is the Trinity Peninsula, because the area is bordered on three sides by Lake Livingston, a 90,000-acre man-made lake. The population has shown moderate growth in recent years and has about 7,000 residents. Approximately three thousand people live within the city itself. Senior citizens account for about 22 percent of the population. Trinity is a prime location for outdoor activities, such as boating, camping, fishing, and hunting. It is estimated that some three million people live within a 100 mile radius of Trinity. The area offers a wide variety of activities for it's residents and visitors alike with it's small town atmosphere and proximity to larger cities.
