English II Teacher
Welcome back Trinity Tigers!
My name is Tracy Campos. I will be your new English II teacher.
To start with, I'd like to tell you a little about myself both personally and professionally. I am originally from Chicago, IL. I attended both elementary and high school in Chicago Public Schools. I graduated from National-Louis University, receiving both my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. My husband and I have been married for 26 years and we have 3 amazing adult children. We are also the proud grandparents of 2 sweet little girls. I'm a huge soccer and baseball fan!! Go White Sox!!
I am beginning my 17th year of teaching. I started teaching in 2002 in Chicago Public schools. I taught in Chicago for 3 years. My husband and I decided we needed a change for our children, so we moved to Kyle, TX. For the next 10 years, I taught in Hays CISD and I enjoyed every moment there. However, I did return to Chicago for family matters. In 2017, once again, I was working for Chicago Public Schools. I taught in Chicago for 3 years and realized I missed Texas, specifically small school districts. My oldest daughter, Alexis Soto, moved to Huntsville last year and became the Athletic Trainer here at Trinity High School. Over the holidays we came to visit and we enjoyed the small-town vibes. I had an opportunity to visit Trinity High School and I knew this was what I needed. As luck would have it, a position opened for this school year and I seized the moment.
My goal is to have our students analyze literature throughout the world, focusing on short stories, poetry, non-fiction pieces, and drama. We will also be writing several essays and doing a short research project. English II students will take the STAAR test this year. We want our English II students to be well-prepared for this challenge.
You can reach me at any time through my school email: [email protected] or by calling the school at (936) 594-3560 ext 4503. My daily conference period is from 12:24 PM-1:09 PM.
Please let me know if you have a question or concern about your students. It is important to keep communication open between us. I look forward to a great year together.
